I don't control the CD player ANYWHERE so i think it would be better for me to have the more frequent releases option. I use my Walkman more than anything so...

I can\'t remember the last time we all stood unified under one melody

if i purchase something i like to have a physical and tangible object in exchange for my money. though i have, rarely, i don't buy mp3's. i also find when it is as easy as it is to sell music files, the quality of music goes down. not saying i WONT buy files, i am just much much less likely. if something is made well i get more excited for it. it is also an element of design that i value.

When I buy a CD, I usually already have the tracks downloaded. I buy the physical CD to add to the pseudo-shrine of music I really love, so the higher quality the CD is, the better. Not to mention the fact that I do like to pop CDs into my CD player in my car or bedroom, and if the CD isn't high quality, it usually gets skippy after a few dozen plays. I hate having to shelve a CD because it's skippy. Makes my shrine feel less valauble.

Maybe a solution is to do web releases of anything you don't think is significant enough to print CDs?

I'll never play a CD I want to keep, except maybe the first time I listen to it. I make a duplicate and listen to that otherwise.

Wtf is wrong with you peoples' votes... I thought no one in these forums literally used CD's. It's so much simpler to rip to FLAC and BOOM.

I think a lot of the hard core fans on this forum are also CD collectors. Having a decent physical package to go along with your music is awesome. Digital files are handy and all, but paying for that tangible package is what it's all about (it being buying, not about the music itself) at least for me.

I'd love to have more frequent release and wouldn't mind sacrificing artwork. But for the major releases, I would love collectable CDs and 12"s with loads of artwork.
